  1. HI Sheila, Hmmmm, this landscape looks very familiar.
We dug a pond about 2 years ago. It is so full in the winter but goes down to almost nothing during the summer months. I hope yours does better than mine, although I think it forms a better seal as the years go by.
I noticed in a previous post you lamented about lack of comments. I went for nearly 6 months without a comment when I first started blogging. I discovered, that to get comments, you need to leave comments. Eventually, like- minded folk will find your blog, it just takes a while. I am always amazed at some of my blogging pals who get anywhere from 50 to 100 comments everytime they post! I don't know how they do it!

  2. Hey, Jeri! Thanks for the comment. Larry's (son in law) idea for the pond. Was dug last year and only ever had a few feet of water, but they diverted a little stream from a spring this trip, and it's filling fast. We'll see. He also sprinkled something (a natural mineral) that's supposed to help form a seal. Yes, I thought the expression "crickets" was so funny when I read it on another blog.
I found your blog while searching artists/Tennessee. But I have mostly friended (on Facebook) and added, on Blogger..the farm, garden, and animal husbandry sites. In this mix I've actually wound up with several writers. Who knew!? Gardening is universal!
You had asked if we were planting the orchard or if it was already there. In these pics you can see the very young, dwarf orchard we've been planting over the last 2 yrs. And the black walnut trees we planted last year.
