Where the depression and trees are, is an underground spring/cave..there are 3 "sinkhole/cave/underground creek" systems on the 26 acres.  Lots of high ground available...

My Florida Garden

My Florida Garden......

Son in law, Larry, brought house plans for Tenn. over yesterday (two families building a house and mother in law suite).  It's exciting to think about..but I'm still planning gardens and landscaping..I'll let him build the house. 

So, on this rainy day, I thought I'd post some past yard/garden pics.  Just back yard pictures from Florida. I don't seem to have any pictures from the hobby farm in Indiana where I gardened and raised my daughter.  She and I "ran away from home", so to speak, and didn't take anything more than our Florida clothes and a few odds and ends. Pictures never even entered my mind at the time.

These golden, floating leaves were floating across our path in N. Carolina as we drove from Florida  to Tenn. last trip.  My favorite of a few hundred pics of the area..just wanted to share..

Tennessee updates...

I'm not finding Blogspot to be very user friendly..but working on it!  We already love Tenn. and our immediate neighbors. We started the orchard 2 yrs ago and it's thriving. A dwarf orchard. Last year we planted nut trees. Only a few have survived..we'll need to research that. Barring any disasters (knock on wood..my head) we start building this coming Spring...but, for the meantime, we're still in Sunny Florida!

My Very Cute Florida Car..will it become a very cute Tenn. car? 

Well..we all had the BEST..church and gift giving, family Christmas ever..probably won't be the same next year..income has been cut to the bone with layoffs etc. But the memories will always be there..and next year will probably be more "old fashioned" with homemade gifts, etc. Another great memory coming up!!! Need to get my recipes out for next year's gift giving..I see zucchini bread in everyone's future!!! :o)

Daughter Darian and her husband Larry are heading up to Tenn. again in 2 wks.  They were going skiing..but with NO SNOW they've decided to visit the property..check that everything is okay, and have hot cocoa by the fireplace in our favorite Lake front rental!   Still planning on starting the house this early Spring.......

Probably won't get back up to Tenn. before next Spring.  Plans have changed a little..but looking forward to it..I'd really like to start a garden..but can't get up there often enough to do it yet.

This last year was eventful and exciting..lots of changes..some a little scary, but all things seem to be working out.  Looking forward to the New Year!  Pic is of my old home town in Wurzburg Germany this New Year's Eve! 

Bebe and I have some health/medical issues to go thru the next few mos. Expecting that we'll both come through with flying colors!!

 This is a vid. of Devin ice skating..he has been  afraid of his shadow..I was so happy and proud to see him doing this!  His daddy, my brother, died 4 yrs ago.  He's just doing so much better..got him to swim under water last Summer!  Just amazing things he would not have attempted the last few years!  Makes me smile!!
