Tennessee, the beginning...

This picture was taken when we all (my daughter Darian, her husband Larry, and my husband Ralph, along with myself) went to Tennessee to see a property my daughter found on-line.  They had been looking and had travelled as far as Northern Ky. looking at land.

We all live in N.E. Florida and my daughter and her husb. had started talking about land, "back to the land" and building their own (with their own hands) dream home.  When she found this property, we all hopped in their truck and headed up there.

They, with a little help from us, bought it the next day.  Since then we have been up there several times a year.  Now have running water, electrical plug in for n RV, and have dug a pond..starting to fill with water.  Put up a decorative wood fence attached to the already installed gates.  Planted an orchard and some black walnuts and a few leland cypress trees.  Larry and his cousin along with their wives, built a 1 car garage size shed/pump house.  Baby steps towards building the house.

  2. Jeri..I'm not finding Blogspot to be very user friendly..but thanks so much for the comment. We already love Tenn. and our immediate neighbors. We started the orchard 2 yrs ago and it's thriving. A dwarf orchard. Last year we planted nut trees. Only a few have survived..we'll need to research that. Barring any disasters (knock on wood..my head) we start building this coming Spring...
